NOVEMBER 5, 2008 — A head-on collision Tuesday evening between a SUV and a minivan in North County killed one person and seriously injured another, the California Highway Patrol reported.  The San Diego fatality crash happened on North Centre City Parkway at Dear Springs Road, northwest of Escondido near Hidden Meadows, at about 6:15 p.m. Tuesday, November 4th. A medical helicopter took one person to a trauma center for treatment of serious injuries. North Centre City Parkway was closed while the CHP and an investigator from the county Medical Examiner’s Office investigated the Hidden Meadows car crash. 

UPDATE: The injured driver of this crash, Javier Medrano, 20, died Thursday, November 6, 2008 of his injuries.
