NOVEMBER 2, 2008 — The California Highway Patrol reported Sunday that a man died in a crash in Fallbrook on South Mission Road early this morning. The crash occurred near Green Canyon Road shortly before 1 a.m.  The county Medical Examiner’s Office identified the man as German Cruz-Santiago, 32, of Vista. Cruz-Santiago was driving a Toyota Camry, which he apparently lost control of while rounding a turn. The Camry  flipped on its side and slammed into a power pole, causing more than 100 residents to lose power temporarily. The CHP investigated the Fallbrook fatality accident.
