One man is dead and another injured after an accident in Escondido on October 11^th. Two motorists were involved in an argument at the Jack in the Box drive-thru on El Norte Parkway, and both drivers were asked to leave the premises. As the vehicles were entering westbound Route 78 from southbound Interstate 15, the pickup truck rear-ended the car. The driver of the truck then lost control of his vehicle and rolled down an embankment. His passenger, a 24-year-old man, was thrown from the truck and was pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the pickup was transported to the hospital with a punctured lung and a broken back. The other driver fled after the collision. It is unknown whether the driver of the pickup struck the car intentionally.
