OCTOBER 9, 2008 – Police reported that a woman and teenage girl both broke a leg in a motorcycle accident at about 4:45 p.m. Wednesday. The motorcycle collided with a southbound travelling Toyota Camry occurred on Jackson Drive in La Mesa, near Zeta Street. Both motorcyclists were transported to a local injury trauma center. The driver of the Camry was not hurt in the collision.
OCTOBER 9, 2008 — Chula Vista police reported that a woman was fatally injured when she was hit by a car while walking to her church, the International Christian Center on Third Avenue. The woman, whose name was not released, was crossing Palomar Street at about 7:10 p.m. when she was hit by a car travelling westbound. Police reported that the woman, who was approximately 50 years old, was not crossing at a crosswalk. The pedestrian was airlifted to UCSD Medical Center and died later in the evening. The driver of the car was not injured and did not receive a citation for the Chula Vista pedestrian accident.
