The brother of a construction worker who was killed when a crane collapsed on a construction site is suing the city of New York for wrongful death.
The accident, occurred on March 15, 2008 and killed seven people, destroyed a four story building and damaged other area buildings.
The worker, Clifford Canzona, was employed by Rapetti Rigging Service and found dead under the debris and rubble.
According to an article in Newday.com, the claim says that “the accident was caused in part, by the negligence of the city and its Department of Buildings for failing to inspect the construction site properly and in “ignoring obvious defects” in how the tower was erected.”
