Brother of killed construction worker suing New York City for Wrongful Death

 The brother of a construction worker who was killed when a crane collapsed on a construction site is suing the city of New York for wrongful death.

The accident, occurred on March 15, 2008 and  killed  seven people,  destroyed a four story building and damaged other area buildings.

The worker, Clifford Canzona, was employed by Rapetti Rigging Service and found dead under the debris and rubble.

According to an article in Newday.com, the claim says that “the accident was caused in part, by the negligence of the city and its Department of Buildings for failing to inspect the construction site properly and in “ignoring obvious defects” in how the tower was erected.”

Four deaths blamed on Roof Collapses in Montreal Since mid-March

A school roof collapse near Montreal Sunday, March 23rd is the latest in a series of roof collapses blamed on a build-up of snow.

Four dead in Alaska boating accident

The Coast Guard reported that four crew members are dead after their Seattle-based fishing boat sank off Alaska’s Dutch Harbor March 23, 2008.

The fishing boat began sinking about 120 miles from the coast. Twenty-six people and 43 crew members in life rafts were rescued.

The four crewman have yet to be identified.

Two Cyclists Killed During Training

Two cyclists were killed and one seriously injured when they were struck by a Santa Clara Sheriff’s Deputy’s vehicle March 9, 2008.

Car crash kills Valley Center woman

A 58-year old Valley Center woman died at a hospital after she was involved in a car crash, March 19th.

The victim, identified by the county medical office, as Rochelle Bowman survived the accident but died from her injuries later in an Escondido hospital.

Roof Collapse in Canada Kills 3

A snow covered roof of a warehouse in Montreal collapsed killing three women March 12th.

The women were all employees of Gourmet du Village and were trapped under the rubble when they were found by rescue workers. The three were transported to a hospital but were pronounced dead on arrival.
