JULY 28, 2009 – A 24-year-old Escondido man was injured when his speeding BMW crashed on Interstate 15, authorities said. The unidentified driver was traveling south on I-15 at a high rate of speed north of Highway 78 when he lost control and crashed into the center median about 2:45 a.m., according to the California Highway Patrol. The car then veered across all lanes and overturned several times, ejecting the driver, authorities said. The victim was transported to Palomar Medical Center with serious injuries. Alcohol is believed to have played a role in the suspected DUI crash, but the CHP is continuing its investigation into the I-15 car accident.
