JULY 27, 2009 – A 23-year-old man was hospitalized with severe head injuries following a bicycle crash, authorities said. The unidentified man was riding south on Soledad Road shortly before noon when the accident occurred near Kate Sessions Memorial Park, according to San Diego police. According to witnesses, a car traveling north on Soledad Road turned left at Alta Vista Way in front of the bicyclist, authorities said. The victim braked to avoid a collision, causing him to crash, police said. The car did not stop. The San Diego Police Department’s traffic division is investigating the bicycle accident.
