JULY 26, 2009 – A 12-year-old boy was seriously injured when he was struck by a van while riding a scooter, authorities said. The boy was with two friends on bicycles about 7:45 p.m., according to San Diego County Sheriff’s officials. The bicyclists rode ahead of the boy and through a stop sign at Palomarcos Avenue while traveling south on Pommel Way, officials said.
