Woman Seriously Injured Thursday in Escondido ATV Crash

JULY 17, 2009 – A 30-year-old woman suffered numerous injuries when she crashed through a stucco wall on an all-terrain vehicle, authorities said. The unidentified woman was riding in the backyard of her home in the 1900 block of Pheasant Place about 5:15 p.m., when she lost control of the vehicle, according to Escondido police. The woman, who was not wearing a helmet, suffered facial fractures, facial lacerations and contusions and a broken arm, authorities said. She was transported to Palomar Medical Center, where she was listed in serious condition. A 7-year-old child riding on the back of the ATV was not injured. It’s unknown if alcohol played a role in the crash. The Escondido Police Department is investigating the ATV crash.
