JULY 2, 2009 – An elementary-school aged child was struck by a car and injured in a south San Diego County neighborhood, authorities said. The accident occurred about 6:30 p.m. on Mulberry Street, when the child veered into traffic and collided with the rear of a trailer being pulled by a car, fire officials said. The child was airlifted to a local hospital, where he was treated for a possible serious leg injury, authorities said.
