Boy Found Dead Tuesday in Carlsbad Home

JUNE 24, 2009 – A 16-year-old boy was found dead in a residence, reportedly after a night of drinking with a friend, authorities said. A 911 call was made from a house in the 7300 block of Sitio Lima near La Costa Avenue shortly before 9 a.m. The caller reported that the 16-year-old boy was not breathing, a NorthComm emergency dispatcher said. The caller claimed to be a friend of the victim, and said the pair were drinking together at the home, according to the dispatcher. Paramedics responded, but could not revive the boy. The Carlsbad Police Department investigated the scene, but could not find any signs of foul play, authorities said. A battalion chief for the Carlsbad Fire Department said no adults were present in the house when paramedics arrived. The San Diego County medical examiner’s office is investigating the death as an accident.
