JUNE 18, 2009 - A motorist was ejected during a two-vehicle collision on State Route 163, authorities said, and another had to be rescued from a heavily damaged car. The accident was reported shortly before 7 a.m. near Kearny Villa Road, not far from Interstate 15, according to the California Highway Patrol. Rescuers arrived to find a pickup truck on its side and a passerby providing first aid to the ejected victim. Both vehicles appeared to have collided as they tried to merge into the slow lane on SR 163, authorities said. The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
