APRIL 29, 2009 – A man is dead after colliding with a trash truck yesterday in the Oak Park area. 36-year-old Jose Ismeal Lerma was exiting eastbound State Route 94 at Federal Boulevard when his SUV hit a patch of spilled oil on the roadway. Mr. Lerma lost control of his vehicle and crossed into the path of an oncoming EDCO truck. The two vehicles collided nearly head-on. Mr. Lerma was transported to Scripps Mercy Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
