APRIL 3, 2009 – Two people were injured in a suspected drunk-driving crash this morning in Chula Vista. An unidentified 23-year-old woman and a male passenger, 31, were traveling eastbound on Otay Lakes Road when the woman struck the right curb. She then lost control of her vehicle, veering across three lanes and eventually crashing into a tree in the center median. Both occupants had to be freed from the wreckage by emergency responders. The female driver was flown to USCD Medical Center in serious condition. The male passenger was transported to a separate hospital for treatment of moderate injuries. The woman, who is suspected of being drunk at the time of the crash, may have suffered life-threatening injuries.
