City of Norfolk, Virginia to pay out $7.5 million to teen hit by city truck
The city of Norfolk, Virginia has agreed to pay $7.5 million to a teen who was injured when he was hit by a truck driven by a city employee.
The settlement must be approved by the circuit court judge hearing the case. The case is set to go to trial in mid-February.
The case was filed by the teens mother on behalf of her 19 year old son, Travis Dalton.
The 19-year-old teenager was standing on the median strip when he was struck by the truck driven by a city employee. The teenager suffered a severe brain injury and now functions on the level of an 11 year old.
