FEBRUARY 25, 2009 – The wheelchair-bound man who was killed on February 12th may be at fault. Evidence shows that 52-year-old John David Byrd was traveling in the middle of a southbound lane on Escondido Boulevard when he was struck by a car. He died at the scene of head and torso injuries. The driver, David Greeno, was neither speeding or under the influence of alcohol. There is no sidewalk at the point of the collision, but pedestrians are permitted to use the shoulder of the Boulevard.
