Three Injured in Helicopter Emergency Landing

FEBRUARY 19, 2009 – Three people were injured when a helicopter made an emergency landing in San Onofre last night. The U.S. Customs and Border Protection Helicopter took off from Long Beach Airport and was on its way to San Diego’s Brown Field when it experienced engine trouble. The pilot performed an emergency landing on San Onofre State Beach, near the nuclear power plant. All three occupants were transported to the hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
