Two Dead In Accident Involving Ryder Truck

FEBRUARY 13, 2009 – Two people are dead after an accident in La Mesa on February 12th. An unidentified 32-year-old man was driving a Ryder truck westbound on Interstate 8 when another motorist cut him off. The truck driver then lost control of his vehicle, causing it to crash through the center divider and collide with a pickup truck traveling eastbound. The driver of the Ryder truck was not wearing a seat belt and was thrown from the vehicle. He died at the scene. The driver of the pickup truck, an unidentified 31-year-old male, was also pronounced dead at the scene. The motorist who caused the truck collision fled the scene. If he is found, authorities say he could face felony hit-and-run charges.
