One man is dead after an accident at a landfill in Kearny Mesa on February 6th. 42-year-old Lee Haleem was unloading a truck at the Miramar Recycling Center when his handcart forklift began to fall over. Mr. Haleem was unable to secure the cart and it tipped over, pinning him underneath. Emergency responders quickly rescued Mr. Haleem from under the cart; however he later died from blunt force head injuries at Sharp Memorial Hospital.
