JANUARY 23, 2009 – Steven Antony, 39, director of Sunstorm Volleyball Club and the volleyball coach at Escondido’s San Pasqual High School, was arrested Thursday on 23 counts of sexual abuse.  He remained in custody Friday at the Vista jail on $1 million bail. The North County Times reported Friday that the three known victims were associated with the volleyball club, not the high school.

According to the charges, Steven Antony allegedly had unlawful sexual intercourse with a minor and molested three minors under the age of 15. The incidents date back to 2001, and most of the crimes allegedly took place in Vista and Carlsbad.  The San Diego County Sheriff’s Child Abuse Unit is continuing to investigate the Escondido volleyball coach child molestation case.
