Cyclist Killed Tuesday Night in Sabre Springs

JANUARY 7, 2009 – A 57-year-old man was killed Tuesday night in Sabre Springs, San Diego Police have reported. The victim, Walter Carl Joller, Jr., was riding his bicycle home from work when he was hit by a car going northbound on Sabre Springs Parkway. According to news reports, the car, a BMW driven by a 55-year-old man, veered into the bicycle lane and struck Joller.  The driver of the car pulled over and called 911, but Joller died at the scene, according to the San Diego Medical Examiner’s office. The accident was reported just before 7:15 p.m. The driver of the BMW that hit Joller, was not injured. The San Diego Police Department is investigating the cause of the bicycle accident
