Teenage Cyclist Hit by Car in Ramona Monday Morning
JANUARY 5, 2009 – A teenage boy riding his bike to school in Ramona was hit by a car Monday morning, the CHP has reported. The 15-year-old cyclist, whose identity has not been released, was riding his bike west on I-Street when he did not stop for a stop sign and was hit by a Chevy Venture minivan at the intersection of I and Eighth streets. The Ramona bicycle accident happened around 7:55 a.m. The teenager suffered head injuries, shoulder injuries and lost some teeth in the accident. He was taken to a local hospital by air ambulance. The driver of the van, a 36-year-old woman, was not injured. The CHP is investigating the accident.
