DECEMBER 22, 2008 – Authorities reported a 23-year-old El Cajon resident was killed Sunday night when he lost control of his vehicle and crashed on Route 94. According to the CHP, the accident happened near Melody Lane around 11:45 p.m. The victim, identified as Jason MacLaren, was driving east on Route 94 when he crossed the divider, struck an embankment and veered back onto the road.  The accident caused the man to be ejected from his Kia Spectra. He was pronounced dead at the scene of the accident. The CHP is investigating the cause of the crash.
