DECEMBER 21, 2008 – A burning Continental Airlines Boeing 737 jet went off the runway during takeoff at the Denver International Airport  in Colorado yesterday, injuring 38 people. No deaths have been reported. The Houston bound plane, Continental flight 1404, came to a stop in a ravine 2,000 from the end of the runway Saturday evening.   The right side of the plane was engulfed in flames, and passengers and crew exited the plane via emergency slides.
