OCTOBER 20, 2008 — The Red Cross is working to relocate residents of a condo damaged when a car crashed into it Saturday afternoon in San Diego. Police reported that a car was travelling on Carmel Mountain Road when it went off the road, striking a light post and a tree before slamming into a condo 50 feet below at 11011 Via Asti in San Diego. The accident happened around noon. Witnesses reported that they thought the car was speeding between 70 and 80 miles per hour, a violation of the 40 mph speed limit on Carmel Mountain Road. Both the male driver and his female passenger were injured slightly in the San Diego auto accident. Police took the driver to the downtown police station for alcohol testing. Nobody was hurt inside the damaged condominium.
