An accident on July 2^nd left a 54-year-old woman dead. Karen Chacon was traveling northbound on Buckman Springs Road, south of Old Highway 80, when her Geo Tracker veered to the right shoulder. Ms. Chacon swerved back to the left, causing her vehicle to flip several times. The victim was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the SUV. Her body landed approximately 50 feet away from her vehicle and she was pronounced dead at the scene. It was later discovered that Ms. Chacon had received a citation in March for not wearing a seat belt.
