Car Accident Leaving Two Dead and Two Injured
SAN DIEGO- There was a head-on accident that left two dead and two others injured in Blossom Valley Tuesday night.
The San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office stated on Wednesday that it was a 21-year-old male from Lakeside and a 21-year-old female from La Mesa that were killed.
The 21-year-old male was driving his 1995 Saturn station wagon at about 80 mph west on Blossom Valley Road just before 7 p.m. when he lost control near New Colt Court and swerved into the eastbound lane. Authorities suggest alcohol might have been involved. The 21-year-old female was a passenger in the Saturn.
At the time of the accident an oncoming motorist was able to avoid contact with the car, but a teenage girl driving a 2002 Mercedes-Benz was not. The 17-year-old driver suffered a broken leg and her 9-year-old brother complained of chest pain. Both were hospitalized.
Everyone involved except for the 21-year-old male was wearing a seat belt. He and his passenger died at the scene.
