Woman Crossing Street Struck and Killed in Escondido

A 55-year-old woman struck by a car crossing an Escondido street died several hours later at a local hospital, the North County Times reported. The woman, who was not immediately identified , was walking across Broadway near East Park Avenue when a northbound Honda Civic struck her. There was no crosswalk at the intersection where the woman was attempting to cross the street. The driver of the car stopped at the scene and cooperated with the investigation. The woman was taken to the hospital where she later died. The Escondido Police Department is investigating the cause of the July 31st Escondido pedestrian accident.
