Motorcyclist Injured Wednesday in Oceanside Crash

AUGUST 13, 2009 – A 60-year-old man was seriously injured when the motorcycle he was riding slammed into a retaining wall in a North San Diego County neighborhood. The unidentified man failed to negotiate a turn on Avenida del Oro in the Rancho del Oro neighborhood about 7 p.m., according to Oceanside police. The man, who was wearing a helmet, was flown to a local trauma unit with major injuries, authorities said. Alcohol may have been a factor in the crash, police said. The Oceanside Police Department is continuing to investigate the suspected drunk driving motorcycle crash.
